BeschreibungCopy of B&W photograph depicting a group of prisoners in concentration camp uniform at Theresienstadt's liberation on May 8, 1945. In the photo (first on the left) is Jack Gaida (originally Gajda) a former prisoner at Auschwitz III-Monowitz. He was identified with camp number 161120. In January 1945 Jack escaped from an evacuation train, which carried the prisoners from Auschwitz III through the Czech terrain. After arrest, Jack, was sentenced to death by the Gestapo in Brno by starvation after being transported to Theresienstadt.
