BeschreibungTabloid newspaper "The Fascist". Newspaper published in England by the Imperial Fascist League, “The Organ of Racial Fascism". The publication is a vehemently anti-semitic. It provides an example of the British Fascist movement in pre-World War II Britain.
The front page has an anti-Jewish immigration cartoon. There are articles about Trade Unions, Communists and Jews. The newspaper has a ‘Fascist Outlook’ section which comments on a range of topics. This issue has an extensive article about ‘The Secrets of Freemasonry Exposed’. Other articles are: The Menace of Foreign Imported Oil, Calculated Race Contamination (which attacks Jews denying the existence of the Aryan race and race science), News from the Workers’ Paradise (which attacks communism which is led by Jews). The last page includes a list of Literature which would be of interest to its members.
After the publisher Arnold Leese visited Germany and met Julius Streicher let to the remodelling of his Journal The Fascist along the lines of Der Strumer. His anti-Semitism became firmly racialist in outlook as he came to speak and write of the Aryan race as the creator of civilisation and culture and claimed that the Aryan was in a permanent struggle with the Jew, the outcome of which would determine the future completely.
