TitelMarriage Certificate
BeschreibungCivil marriage certificate, from "Provincia del Carnaro. Comune di Fiume" for the marriage between Ermanus Szekeres and Margherita Zipser, 2nd February 1928, parents of the donor, George Szekeres.
Fiume was at different times under control of Croatia, Yugoslavia and Italy. In 1923 it was taken by Italian fascists and 1924 a treaty with Yugoslavia recognised some Italian annexation and some Yugoslavian zones. Margherita Zipser (on various documents appears Margit Zipser, then as Arminne or Armin Szekeres) emigrated to Australia in 1951 and became an Australian citizen in 1957.
