BeskrivelseLetter from F. Silverman, Employment Officer, Australian Jewish Welfare Society, Maccabean Hall, Sydney, addressed to Miss Alice Krohn in Genova, 30 August 1938. It states that Alice and her sister's only job prospects in Australia would be as domestic helpers. It states that if this interests her she must contact the German Jewish Aid Committee in London. "Upon receipt of your official applications, will do our best to obtain permits for you and your sister to enter Australia."
Part of a collection of material purchased at an auction in Annandale when a lot came up but no one bid on it. The donor realized it was going to be thrown away and bid $5 for it, because he dislikes it when people's history is discarded. Some of the correspondence relates to Jewish welfare, and thus he thought to donate the material to the Sydney Jewish Museum.
