He writes, "We feel shocked at the deploring conditions existing in other countries, and particularly the sorry plight of these two very fine girls. Every day we hear of these tragic cases and we feel that we simply must do something to relieve the sufferings of those less fortunate than ourselves ..." He writes that the government will issue permits for Alice and Gerda Krohn to work in a domestic capacity when they immigrate to Sydney, Australia. Part of a collection of material purchased at an auction in Annandale when a lot came up but no one bid on it. The donor realized it was going to be thrown away and bid $5 for it, because he dislikes it when people's history is discarded. Some of the correspondence relates to Jewish welfare, and thus he thought to donate the material to the Sydney Jewish Museum.
