Discusses the story of the Jewish doctors who were sent out to Australia, from England in 1940 as internees, on the 'Dunera'. German and Austrian Jews were prominent in the fields of medicine and science. A number of these doctors left Australia, and ten decided to stay in Australia after the war. This article outlines their story including the tragic story of Dr. Arthur Kassel
