Beskrivelse

By the end of World War II, the former Czechoslovakia was economically depleted and much of the country's Jewish and Roma population had been murdered. The Jews who returned home encountered hostility and many emigrated. In 1990, former Jewish prisoners of Theresienstadt formed the Terezin Initiative, an association of Shoah survivors in the Czech Republic, and in 1995 a monument was erected.
