Beskrivelse

The monumental Warsaw Ghetto Memorial of Nathan Rapoport was erected on the ghetto ruins in 1948. The two sides of the memorial represent the two distinct narratives that emerged in Yiddish writing during the postwar decade. One strand celebrated resistance and heroism, and the other the martyrdom of helpless innocents.
