1938: the year of fate

In 1938 it became clear that Berlin Jews would have to leave the place they called home. Yet in many case those affected saw little chance of leaving. Entrance visas were required, and these were not easy to obtain. Financial guarantees were required and not every Jew in Germany had such connections
