A prayer for Katerina Horovitzova

A prize-winning novel about a young Jewish girl trapped with 20 Jewish businessmen. They all hold American passports and try to negotiate their freedom by exchanging themselves for high-ranking German prisoners of war. The negotiations eventually turn out to be a hoax, and Katerina is sent to the camps to be gassed.
