General Patch's 12th armoured division, forging their way towards the Austrian border, uncovered another Nazi horror camp at Schwabmuchen, southwest of Munich. Over 4000 slave labourers - all Jews of various nationalities, were housed in the prison. As spearheads of the 7th US army threatened the camp, the German guards found they could not evacuate the prisoners, before the arrival of the Americans.
