العنوانMegillat Esther case and stand
الوصفCase and stand for Megillat Esther with engraved motifs of a Menorah, tablets of the Ten Commandments, symbols of Lions of Judah and Star of David. There are no apparent silver marks nor hallmarks. The work could be of North African or Iranian origin, most likely by a Jewish silversmith, dated c 1900.
The item is in four pieces: a: cylinder; b: base; c: small lift-out piece, and d: roll-on rod with a decorated bone handle. Rather than 'silver plated', it is thought to be an alloy of copper with a low (40-50% ) silver content, sometimes referred to as 'white' metal.
