الوصف

Explores the representation of the ma'apilim (immigrants) in Israeli historiography. This included Ha'apalah, illegal immigration, in the Zionist struggle for a Jewish state in Palestine and those who had survived the Holocaust. Includes informaton on the voyages, the interceptions and the ships sent back to Europe. Participation in the Ha'apalah was a formative and conscious searing experience that served as a ticket of entry to Israeli society.
