Between accommodation and awareness: Jewish resistance in Scandinavia under Nazism

الوصف

Jewish resistance in Scandanavia, excluding the dramatic escape of Danish Jews to Sweden, appears to be minimal. However, the loyalty of Swedish Jews towards other Jews increased towards the end of the war, and the mass elimination of European Jewry generally led to a deepening of Jewish identity within the Jewish community. Many of the Danish Jews on the other hand dissociated themselves from the Jewish community after their return to Denmark from Sweden. Few Norwegian Jews wished to return to Norway after living in Sweden and as a result the Norwegian Jewish community was diminished.
