Despite scholars' great efforts to uncover and make public the dark past of Polish-Jewish relations during World War II, the continuing difficulties with integrating the Holocaust and the history of Polish Jews into Polish national memory and history have in 2009 prompted a new wave of sceptical and pessimistic opinions among intellectuals
