DescriptionThis postcard is one of eight cards from Anna Kalfus collection of family war-time letters & postcards. It is a pre-printed Deutsches Reich's postcard with one printed stamp of value of 15 Pfennig and one stuck-on stamp od 10 Pfennig value without date, both showing the profile portrait of the second president of Germany Generalfeldmarshall Paul von Hindenburg (1847 - 1934).
The card is dated Bendzin, 6/6/1941 and sent from Anna's sister Helene Tintpulwer and addressed to Ida Tintpulwer in Russia. Anna was 21 and her sister Ida 27 when they were both taken to a labour camp in Russia in 1940. Written on both sides in Polish, the card conveys most concerns about the children, Ida and Anna (Hanka) not writing frequently enough and causing a lot of grief. There is a plea for a photo, even an old one.
