Description“Working as a slave labourer in Oberhohenelbe in the Sudetenland, making components for V2 which bombarded London, we made the dog-tag and the chain plus the four small charms, one is the Star of David, from the wire we worked with, and wore it around our necks.” Susan Karas, who died in May 2013, wrote this note to accompany the necklace which she bequeathed to the Sydney Jewish Museum. Her identity number from the slave labour camp is on one side of the metal disc, number 86923. The number on the reverse side is F87. The charms attached to the handmade link chain are three hearts (two are joined together) and a Star of David.
