Reparatur von Mannerbekleidung
Object numberM2012/010:127
TitleReparatur von Mannerbekleidung
DescriptionA receipt issued by the Terezin Ghetto Jewish self-administration to Moric Kohn for repairing clothing. It is dated 14 July 1944, records his transport number (AAv 888), his current lodgement (Seestrasse 10) and is non-transferable.
This small and seemingly unimportant docket documents the rigid nature of the Nazi’s administration. All aspects of life in the ghetto were strictly managed and regulated. Even something as simple as repairing clothing, needed a monthly ratio (this one is for July) and identification of the owner. The Jewish self-administration worked under the Nazi control and was charged with implementation of many ghetto’s regulations and restrictions.
Docket, thought to be prepared by the Administration Department of the Council of the Elders. Detailed information required even in a docket for clothing repair. This is Docket Number 4689 issued to Moric Kohn, Transport Number AAv888, on 14 July, 1944, initialled in handwriting, F.V.
