DescriptionThis is a handwritten Log Book for the 3rd Rose Bay Senior Scouts between 1969 and 1971. The 3rd Rose Bay Venturers Unit catered for the 15 to 17 year old age group for both males and females where members participated in activities including caving, horse riding, surfing, abseiling, sailing, trail bike riding, hiking, camping and boat building. The Log Book features weekly meeting activities and a Camporee Report from 1970. The report contains negative comments about behaviour and lack of co-operation between Senior Staff and Scouters at this Camporee. Other entries relating to 1970 include two letters attached with sticky tape which acknowledge that both Garry Cohen and Lindsay Feigen passed the Senior Pioneer Badge Course with Honours and a flyer for a fundraising car wash held by the 3rd Rose Bay Senior Scouts on the 13th December. Entries relating to 1971 include details of Group activities such as a Venture to Melbourne, Venture Hike to the Blue Mountains in April, an invitation for a Senior Scout Dinner on the 18th September for the East Metropolitan Area and a letter for parents about a proposed 3rd Rose Bay Seniors two week Venture to Queensland. The Book also features a letter written by Mark Gold about the Venture to Queensland discussing activities such as a visit to the Natural Arch, a day trip to Brisbane and a two-day trip to Noosa Heads. Address and phone number details of members of the Venturers Unit are located at the back of the book.
