The work features three Sydney Holocaust survivor's - Jacob Raykin, Olga Horak and Morris Shell, and numerous iconic symbols of the Holocaust such as a tattooed forearm, gas chambers and corpses. Maia was born in 1976. She was inspired by Steven Spielberg's film Schindler's List. Maia worked non-stop on the canvas for two weeks, seeking to capture the atmosphere of the camps by using dark colours and striking tones.
