DescriptionBlack & white photographs of the Synagogue in Subotica, Yugoslavia. The synagogue was built in 1901-1902 in the Art Nouveau style by architects Jakab Dezso and Marcel Komor. On the reverse, Shlomo Weinstein has typed: “This is a picture of the Synagogue in Subotica, Yugoslavia, where the world famous Chief Chason the late Joseph Basser was the Cantor after he left Vienna. As a boy of 9, I was a member of the Choir of this Synagogue.”
