DescriptionFramed floor tile, with mosaic-like pattern. The tile was taken from the vandalized Synagogue in Subotica, Yugoslavia (now Serbia) by Holocaust survivors Helen and Shlomo Weinstein during their visit to their home-town Subotica in 1983. The shul had been vandalized during the war and never restored, They picked up pieces of stained glass window as well as this floor tile from "the exact position where Shlomo used to stand with his father and pray as a child". The Synagogue was built in 1901 – 1902 by architects Jakab Dezso and Marcel Komor in the Art Nouveau style.
