Anna Abelesz was deported from Vacz, Hungary to Auschwitz concentration camp with her parents, grandparents and other members of the family around 14 June 1944. After nine months in Auschwitz and various labour camps, Anna was taken to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in March 1945. A virtual skeleton when liberated, a British soldier gave her this wrist watch, one of a large trunkful found. He had taken it from a pit in Bergen-Belsen.
