DescriptionHand-written letter in English, to Alice Krohn from Beryl & Marion in Lucerne, Italy, 9 September 1938. It states that Alice and her sister, Gerda, should not give up hope of getting jobs in Australia and that Beryl is contacting friends in Australia, the Sperlings, to tell them of the urgency. "You are, by no means, to give up hope that everything will go well for you all. You must not despair because you have not had a reply. I am sure there will be one in due course."
Part of a collection of material purchased at an auction in Annandale when a lot came up but no one bid on it. The donor realized it was going to be thrown away and bid $5 for it, because he dislikes it when people's history is discarded. Some of the correspondence relates to Jewish welfare, and thus he thought to donate the material to the Sydney Jewish Museum.
