DescriptionIn this drawing there are three uniformed guards and three Jews, one of them a women. This indicates a ghetto scene, because in the camps men and women were separated. As with the other drawings in the collection, the Jewish Star of David is in the wrong spot, on the right breast rather than the left side. (This is either artistic license or the artist hasn't seen Jews identified in this way). The stars are highlighted in such as way as you see them immediately - the pencil drawing behind the linear star has been erased. The Jews, visibly frightened and in despair, appear to be running away from the guards.
