The caption on the back reads: Zandwoort Augustus 1940 Robbie Samuel Alter geb 4 Oct 1929 son of Sara Alter Wertheim died in Auschwitz 23 Mei 1943. The donor of the photo was a childhood friend of Robbie Alter and has cherished the original of the photo for many years. Robbie and his mother, Sara were both murdered in Auschwitz.
