DescriptionTwelve pieces of table linen, monogrammed “SS” (Sophie Stern, Ruth’s mother?), light yellow with floral designs. The set is held together by a yellow ribbon. Part of the Stern family linen, which traveled with the family on their journey from Germany to South Africa in 1939. The towels – an ordinary object of everyday life also represents a link with the life before the family was forced to move.
