Creator E.H. Marcuse
DescriptionPoster titled “Diagrammatic Layout of the Basic Weapons Used by a Japanese Infantry Regiment.” It was produced by GSI First Australian Army 12th January 1944. The drawing is in black and white pen and ink wash with a green overlay of colour. It is not signed by Marcuse but was in his son’s collection of drawings. The style appears to belong to Marcuse. Ernst Marcuse (1900-1985) was a commercial artist and illustrator who came to Australia in 1939. He produced many war illustrations for The Argus Newspaper and joined the Australian Army where he produced many visual aid material for training and illustrating for Army publications.
