DescriptionAustralian Armed Forces instructional poster. The poster is an original hand painted water colour with black ink line work and text. It is titled “Lines of Fire, Figure 10.” It is showing in diagrammatic form artillery firing danger zones. On the bottom right hand side the service number of V377746 belonging to Private E. H. Marcuse stationed at Bonegilla Victoria. On the bottom left side in pale blue ink the words “rough sketch only!”are written. Ernst Marcuse (1900-1985) was a commercial artist and illustrator who came to Australia in 1939. He produced many war illustrations for The Argus Newspaper and joined the Australian Army where he produced many visual aid material for training and illustrating for Army publications.
