DescriptionA pair of candlesticks, silver plated with copper base and decorated with foliage type designs. Inscribed at the bottom “Gewüdmet von Grossmutter” (dedicated by Grandmother). Hallmark used in Austria-Hungary from 26th May, 1886 to 22nd April 1922. Signs of use (congealed wax) evident in sockets. Acquired by bequest, no information is available to the candlesticks history. It may be assumed they were used on traditional occasions such as Shabbat and High Holy Days.
