DescriptionLetter with envelope dated 6 October 1940, addressed to Lewis Jonas’ sister Katie, Ted and family, sent from Kahlin Military Hospital, Darwin. Lewis thanks his sister for the postal note, and says that he used it to buy some tobacco. He says that he has received quite a bit of mail, and has received four letters that week, and asks Katie to thank Dennis for his letter. He notes that he had his first experience of a tropical storm in the morning that lasted for three hours. Lewis indicates that he is still working as an orderly at the hospital, and that he has plenty of work, including hand developing X-Rays.
