DescriptionUndated letter on (unofficial) Australian Red Cross Society stationary sent by Lewis Jonas from Malaya to his sister Katie and her family. Lewis says that he is getting used to the heat, and that he goes into town sometimes to get some different food, but that the camp food is not too bad. He writes that he saw a Chinese review the night before, and that it had a number of good acts like tightrope walking, balancing and dancing, but ‘they can’t sing for nuts it sounds something awful more like a lot of cats’. Lewis says that he is going to a Malayan wedding on Sunday, and that he will take some photographs and send some. He talks about the correspondence he has received from Amy, notes that Bob is in Newcastle Hospital and states that he has written to Aunt Julia.
