DescriptionA small, paper cut out Jewish New Year card reading, "La Shanah Tovah" (in Hebrew). It has a colourful drawing of a boy and girl in Victorian-style clothes and hats, peeking through a window. The boy is carrying a basket of flowers that is coming in through the window, as are the brim of his hat and his fingers. The window frame is cut out and can hinge open to reveal a better view of the children, who are on a separate piece of paper that is attached on the reverse of the card. A heart and garland of yellow flowers adorn the front of the card, and the message is embossed in gold. Such novelty cards were popular in the early 20th century.
