DescriptionTyped letter, in German, on official letterhead from the office of Richard Feuer & Co., Gesellschaft fur Gasgluhlicht-Industrie (Society for the Gas Light Industry) in Berlin, dated 31 January 1921. It serves as a reference for Walter Plotke, who finished his apprenticeship training there on 15 November 1920 and was employed there as a correspondent from that time through the writing of this letter on 31 January 1921. It reports that Walter worked with diligence and intelligence and has excellent future prospects. They were sad to lose him to another job but wished him well. This letter is one of ten documents recording Walter's employment at Richard Feuer & Co. and OSRAM from 1920 to 1933, when his employment was terminated because he was a Jew. These documents illustrate the implementation of discrimination tactics against Jews in the German workforce during the build-up to WWII.
