DescriptionPrayer Book issued by H. M. Forces to Jewish Servicemen in WW II. This book belonged to S/Sgt. Richard Diamond, NX 131825, of the Australian Army. It contains a newspaper clipping about the Jewish Servicemen starting a Synagogue and Schule in New Guinea, as well as the signatures of the Synagogue's founding members and names and addresses of other friends in the service. It also holds a receipt from the Young Men's Hebrew Association in Sydney for money received "For Comforts Fund" from the Gilli Gilli Schule. The Prayer Book lists Richard's wife, Doris Diamond, of 41 Park Road, Centennial Park, Sydney, as his next of kin.
