DescriptionB/W photographic postcard showing Bergen-Belsen concentration camp after its liberation on April 15, 1945. This image shows soldiers overseeing bodies being carried from a truck. The person carrying the body in the foreground is believed to be SS Guard Franz Hoessler, who was hanged on 13 December 1945 for war crimes. Initially, the former guards were made to bury the dead, but bulldozers were eventually required to complete the massive task.The bodies of the dead at Bergen-Belsen were buried between April 18 and 28, 1945.
