DescriptionTemperature chart (No 209 A) of Alfred Hofbauer while in hospital during his service with the French Foreign Legion. The chart (in French) shows a swinging temperature marked during the period 10th-29th August 1940. Condition marked as contagious. Alfred Hofbauer was born in 1913 in Vienna and found refuge in France c. 1938. He escaped to Switzerland c. 1939, joined the French Foreign Legion 1939/1940, then the Pioneer Corps, British Army in 1943. He fought in North Africa and Italy in World War II and came to Australia in 1946.
