DescriptionB/W photograph of Anna Koval, finally able to enjoy normal life in her Matraville Kindergarten class (Matraville, NSW) in March, 1953. She is standing at the end of the row on the right, with bows in her hair. Anna is the daughter of Csibi and Jidu Koval, who survived the Holocaust but lost 47 of their immediate relatives. Originally coming from Munkacs, Csibi and Jidu were reunited in Prague after liberation. Anna was born in Prague and the family voyaged to Australia on the "Protea" in 1951.
