DescriptionPostcard sent by Muriel Knox-Doherty, from Switzerland to her niece Elizabeth Doherty in Australia dated 17.05.1946. On the front are two Swiss maids in colourful dress. On the back is the message: “Dear Elizabeth, I thought you would like this picture of two little Swiss maids. I came here by train with young Polish boys & girls from Warsaw – They will stay for 6 months to get strong & fat. They are nearly all orphans. Love from Aunty Muriel”. Australian Chief Nurse Muriel Knox-Doherty was posted to Bergen-Belsen in 1945 to help rehabilitate Survivors.
