DescriptionThis is a translated copy of a letter from the Ministry for National Defence Office of the Czechoslovak Legion, listing Eugene Foltyn as a member of the Czechoslovakian Army, who fought for liberation from 1 September 1939 to 5 May 1945.
Eugene initially served in the Czech Army in 1930 at the age of 20 as part of National Service. He was called up again in 1938 but discharged later that year. Eugene escape to Poland and then Russia where he joined the Czech Army unit there and served until the end of the war.
