It shows the "Gebrüder Karfiol" department store, located on Jakobstrasse 38, corner Rotekrebsstrasse. The store was owned by Ida Karfiol. In early 1938 Ida Karfiol was pressured into selling her department store to Albert Wagner, a local member of the Schutzstaffel (SS). Wagner never paid the whole sum for the department store. Ida Karfiol left the country in 1939. There is no further information on her after she left Germany.
