Before being transferred to Bergen-Belsen in 1945, Grese was also employed at the concentration camp of Auschwitz. She was convicted for crimes against humanity and received the death penalty. She was executed on December 13, 1945. She was 22 years old.
She was nicknamed "The Beast of Belsen", "The Beautiful Beast", "The Blonde Angel of Auschwitz" and "Die Hyäne von Auschwitz" ("The Hyena of Auschwitz").
