DescriptionBronze sculpture of Bertha Vanas on a granite base made by her husband Adrianus Vanas. Both were recognized by the Dutch Government for bravery in Westerbork Transit Camp where they saved Jews, helping them to escape before they were deported to Auschwitz. Both Bertha and Adrianus Vanas were recognized as Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem on 2 December 1991. Bertha passed away in 1999 and Adrianus in 2013.
