DescriptionColoured photographs taken by the Special Investigation Unit in Ukraine 1990. Serial "P" - Re-interring the bodies, re-filling the grave, ceremony for the dead. At 1pm on Sunday 13 July 1990, a service was held at the grave site. It was attended by Mr Polevoy, the regional Procurator, Mr Bob Greenwood Q.C., Director of the Special Investigations Unit, the Soviet and Australian exhumation teams, representatives of the Jewish community of the Rovno region and the people of the village of Serniki and Zarichnye. Rabbi Shmuel Bloch, a visiting Rabbi from the Chabad Lubavitch, New York, USA, was in the Soviet Union at the time and able to perform the service. This photograph shows Rabbi Bloch symbolically closing the grave.
