The captions provide a narrative or commentary but does not identify each image historically. For example image 5 caption reads: "The is what a man could be reduced to after a few months of "Lager Dora", the sinister camp which provided slaves for the flying-bomb factory at Nordhausen. It was in effect an extermination camp: the prisoners were deliberately worked and starved to death; during the construction of the underground flying-bomb factory they were kept underground for months at a time."
