DescriptionPostcard from Paula Strauss, in Drancy internment camp (France). She was later deported to Auschwitz where she was murdered.
"I’d like to tell you by the grace of God I hope to hear the same from you. I wrote you a letter and I included a card for your response – the 12 others who came with me here have already received news and packages. I haven’t received a thing yet.
I pray my friends do everything possible to liberate me because I can do nothing from here.
You have to obtain for me a certificate for – RUSTUNGS INDUSTRIE – you can find it at Majestic Hotel or the Astoria Hotel because you work for the occupied territories but you have to make sure it arrives very quickly because I can be deported at any moment. I think of it every night and every day my beautiful.
If you have not sent the parcels yet, please include my grey overcoat and pink silk robe and housecoat and a pink bra and pair of shoes and perfume, some food in tins, pate and sardines, send me one of my cameras so I have something for the trip.
You must not take my little girl to school it is better you teach her at home. I wait eagerly for your parcels."
