TitleSilver platter from Kiddush set
DescriptionSilver platter used in kiddush cup set with decanter. This object was given to Tadeusz and Maria Wolski during their involvement in the Polish underground. They received this set in exchange for food by a Jewish family.
Kiddush is a Hebrew word that literally means ‘sanctification’. It is a blessing recited over grape juice or wine to sanctify the Jewish and Shabbat holidays. The prayer is recited before the meal on the evening of the sabbath or festival. Many families have a special goblet or glass for the blessing; this vessel is called the Kiddush cup.
