DescriptionTabloid newspaper "The Fascist". Newspaper published in England by the Imperial Fascist League, “The Organ of Racial Fascism" from April 1938. The publication is a vehemently antisemitic. It provides an example of the British Fascist movement in pre-World War II Britain.
The front page has an antisemitic cartoon showing a Jew in an ‘Uncle Sam’ type recruitment ad encouraging Jews to fight for Czechoslovakia. The central article is “Who Want War? Only the Jews! Austria Emancipated” about the Anschluss.
Inside there is the general survey of news from around the world (with a Fascist slant) and the following articles: Socialism vs Peace, Germany and the Class War and Desperate Propaganda (about the book The Jewish Contribution to European Civilisation).
After the publisher Arnold Leese visited Germany and met Julius Streicher let to the remodelling of his Journal The Fascist along the lines of Der Strumer. His anti-Semitism became firmly racialist in outlook as he came to speak and write of the Aryan race as the creator of civilisation and culture and claimed that the Aryan was in a permanent struggle with the Jew, the outcome of which would determine the future completely.
