Georg Szanto born 19 March 1907 in Budapest. He was a textile engineer and later a textile importer. Georg was placed into forced labour in Hungary around 1942 and was deported 27th October 1944 to Mauthausen, Gunzkirchen. There he worked for U.B. Farben company with other deported Jews. After being liberated by the Americans on 5 May 1945, Georg was taken to hospital suffering Typhus. He arrived back in Budapest in 1946 then left in 1958 to come to Australia. Mother's name Gisella Haasz.
