DescriptionSecond edition of the haggadah produced by the organisation Stand Up entitled The New Australian Haggadah. Stand Up is an organisation committed to social justice and their Haggadah reflects this mandate. Using traditional Pesach themes of slavery, poverty, freedom, redemption and possibility, it tries to frame them in a language for modern Australia.
It includes commentaries by Jewish Australia’s in addition to the traditional Hebrew text with English translations. Contributors include Oliver Kaye, Joel Lazar, Sidra K Moshinsky, Rabbi Jacqueline Ninio, Bram Presser, Lara Rutstein, Nadav Eshel Selan, Ronch Willner, Avital, Dr Avril Alba, Anetta Able, Kitia Altman, Ittay Flescher, Rebecca Forgasz, Rabbi Ralph Genende and Dr Howard Goldenberg. The intro includes well wishes from Aunty Madeline MacGrady, Aboriginal Elder from Toomelah and Boggabilla. The book includes many illustrations, often drawing from Australian iconography.
